Frequently asked questions
How quickly do you reply to enquiries?
We reply to every enquiry within 12 hours, seven days a week, and to guests already travelling within one hour. Messages arriving between 22:00 and 08:00 Beijing time are answered the following morning, in order received.
What are your office hours?
Our office is staffed 09:00 to 18:00 Beijing time, Monday to Saturday, which is 01:00 to 10:00 UK time. Guests already in China have a 24-hour number answered by a person, not a recorded message.
What is your emergency number?
Every traveller receives their guide's 24-hour Chinese mobile number plus our English duty line, answered within three rings. For medical or police emergencies dial 120 or 110 first, then call us and we will come to you.
How do I add you on WeChat?
Search our WeChat ID joyotour, or scan the QR code printed on your confirmation voucher; friend requests are accepted within minutes. WeChat is the fastest way to reach your guide in China, faster than phone or email.
Who do I contact if something goes wrong on the trip?
Call your guide first, since they are with you and can fix it fastest. If that fails, your named planner answers within one hour, then our duty manager escalates. Anything unresolved after 24 hours goes to the owner directly.
